Twitter First Shopping Livestream – Twitter’s added the e-commerce feature including the livestream shopping. And Wallmart is the first retailer to test it knowing that it’s not their first time. Wallmart already organized live shopping with YouTube and TikTok. Twitter users will be able to watch the live broadcast and buy the featured products. They will be also to join multiple conversations around this Livestream event.
William White, the Chief Marketing Officer at Walmart said: “Twitter continues to be an important platform for Walmart’s business and our customers. We’ve been focused on charting new territory in shoppable livestreams and are excited to celebrate an important milestone together with the first Livestream Shopping event on Twitter.”
Twitter New Platform
Partnering with one of the biggest retailers in the United States, this step by Twitter will be a turning point in their business model. Earlier this year, they began testing the Shop Module with selected brands. In the coming weeks Twitter will announce the collaboration with more merchants in the US. Twitter Shopping Manager will be the platform where businesses can manage their shops and products’ catalogues.
This is a new era for Twitter and the opportunities are endless. Certainly innovation will play a big role in comparative advantage of Twitter, especially that Facebook and Instagram Commerce Manager platform is already established and gaining a big market share while they are way ahead in fine-tuning customer’s experience.
